The Kasarani police officer was reported to have met his Starehe colleague with a woman before the scuffle ensued. The reason for the shootout was, however, not ascertained.

According to the report, it states that FM was the first to shoot his colleague in the hand leaving him with injuries.

In counter-attack to the shoot, LM pulled his pistol and shot FM in the neck and accidentally shot the woman in the abdomen.

Emergency service providers rushed FM to the Nairobi Hospital where he was admitted to the facility's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The woman and the other police officer, LM, were rushed to Nehema Uhai Hospital, Kasarani for first aid services.

LM was later on discharged before Kasarani DCI officers grilled him over the shootout.

The sleuths also confiscated rifles belonging to the two officers pending ballistic analysis and conclusive investigations.
