Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi's attack on Woman Representative Kawira Mwangaza has seemingly touched a raw nerve amongst a section of lawmakers.

The MPs faulted Murungi for his new book titled Beyond Politics, a conversation with Kiraitu Murungi, citing that it was full of malice and gossip against Mwangaza.

Murungi, in his book, launched a scathing attack on Mwangaza, alleging that she was clueless on matters regarding leadership.

He also poked holes at her political career, claiming that her public facade masked her true intentions for Meru residents.

"Kawira is a self-proclaimed Bishop but in reality, she is a hypocrite deeply immersed in lies and deception of the people, especially the poor and illiterate," he stated in his book.

He further questioned Mwangaza's public image based on how she runs Baite TV station alongside her husband Baicu Murega.

"She is a cunning businesswoman. Her Baite TV station is her selfie. She has monopolised its screens as the bishop, director, and producer of her own ego.

"Her greed for money is insatiable and even her church is just a family business. Despite her claims to supernatural and divine powers, Kawira is a hoax," he alleged further.

The governor and Mwangaza have been at loggerheads in the recent past after the latter declared her bid to succeed him in the 2022 General elections.

This has seen the two trade barbs in order to prove political supremacy and gain momentum heading into the elections.

Murungi, in a past interview, revealed his intentions to go slow with politics after his encounter with the Covid-19 virus upon which he endeavoured to write the book to detail his political career.
