School Watchman Killed, Body Found in Staffroom

A cloud of grief and mystery surrounded St Anne's Kisoko Girls High school, Busia County after the body of a watchman manning the school was found lying inside the staffroom on Wednesday, August 4.  

The incident was confirmed by OCPD Busia Walter Abondo who indicated that the deceased was most likely murdered as his body had visible injuries. 

Police who combed the scene of the crime found school equipment missing- speculating that suspects could have committed the crime and made away with the valuables.

Abondo affirmed that no student was harmed during the incident.

"When our officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of the watchman inside the staffroom at the school.

"We urge members of the public to provide any information regarding the incident so that they can make an arrest," the police boss stated.

The family of the deceased sought answers from police about the incident. They urged police officers to speed up the investigations in order to bring the suspects to book. 

Cases of insecurity have been rampant in the recent past with scores of Kenyans urging the police sector to tighten security in order to curb criminal cases.

This has seen Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai assure Kenyans that police officers would be deployed to the most affected regions.

He also urged Kenyans to be vigilant and report various crimes to the nearest stations in order for police to pursue and bring the suspects to justice.

"The police continue to ensure members of the public are safe. Addressing the recent crimes, police patrols will be enhanced in the affected areas," Mutyambai stated during a past Engage the IG Forum.
