Two of Deputy President William Ruto's allies simultaneously canceled scheduled interviews on local TV stations on the evening of Monday, September 6.

Kikuyu Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichungwa, was scheduled to appear for an interview on KTN News alongside political commentator Peter Kagwanja and Ndaragwa legislator, Jeremiah Kioni. He, however, skipped the show.

Hustler Nation spokesperson, Dennis Itumbi, said that Ichungwa had not confirmed availability for the interview despite the media house making public a poster with the legislator as part of the discussants.

"We told you in very clear terms, that you owe Hustler Nation an apology, till then, we are keeping off your shows with Kagwanja," Itumbi tweeted.

At the same time, Kiambu Woman Representative, Gathoni wa Muchomba, was scheduled for an interview on TV47 but she was no show.

Wa Muchomba recently decamped from President Uhuru Kenyatta's camp to join Ruto's Hustler Nation.

In a statement, she told her fans that she would not engage in a political debate with Sports Cabinet Administrative Secretary, Zack Kinuthia.

"Dear my fans, I will not attend the TV 47 show tonight as planned. I will not engage in a political debate with an appointed  CAS - Zack Kinuthia. He should first resign from public service," the MP stated.

The last minute cancellations came just hours after Jubilee Secretary General, Raphael Tuju, linked the Deputy President to mega graft scandals and abuse of office.

Tuju questioned the vast wealth owned by the party's deputy leader, adding that the DP ought to inform Kenyans how he earned such immense wealth in a short time.

"The DP is on video record when he told Kenyans that he is worth Ksh100m in 2015… In the intervening seven years, he has worked very hard and has assets like choppers, hotels, and land worth billions," Tuju stated.

"He should show ‘hustlers’ and us clueless adults on how to acquire such property in such a short time," the CS without portfolio added.

Further, Tuju asked the DP to show documents showing the amount he has paid to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to show transparency.
