A primary school learner was paid to remove the body of Kilifi tycoon Sidik Sumra from the original crime scene, court documents indicate.
The primary school pupil was allegedly hired by the assailants who orchestrated the brutal murders of three people alongside a secondary school student and paid Ksh300 by the prime suspect.
Police in a report stated that after killing Sumra, his driver Rahil Mohamed Kasmani and a land agent James Kazungu Kafani the suspects asked the learners to drag the bodies from the crime scene and dump them next to where their vehicle was parked.
The vehicle was reportedly torched by the suspects.
In court documents, detectives stated that data analysis showed that the eight suspects who are in police custody were at the crime scene when the victims were killed.
The main suspect named in court documents is said to have interrogated the three when they arrived in Kilifi to look into the land Sumra wanted to purchase.
“On July 7, Mr Mwagosha was at his workplace when the deceased arrived, and he was among the suspects who interrogated the deceased persons and later killed them,” the lead investigator stated in the documents.
“The respondents vandalised the vehicle, stole valuables and later burnt it. The respondents then deserted their residence and charged the mobile phone numbers they were using,” the report added.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, September 10, flushed out the key suspect in the death of Sumra, Kasmani and Kazungu.
In a statement, the sleuths said the suspect was arrested from his hideout in Ambuja Court, in Tassia’s Fedha Estate, Nairobi.
The detectives believe that the male suspect mobilized a mob to attack Sidik Anverali Mohammed, his driver and a land agent.
DCI reported that Kazungu had pleaded with the attackers in their local Giriama dialect, begging them to spare their lives, but the assailants who were determined to eliminate them did not spare their lives.
