"They stormed the house where a seven-member family was enjoying their favorite TV program," reads an excerpt from the DCI's statement.

Some of the items that the gang made away with include four television sets, four mobile phones, three gas cylinders, a laptop, a fridge, mortar, bicycle and assorted clothing.

In addition, the suspects transferred a total of Ksh141,800 from the daughter's accounts, from both her phone and bank accounts.

"They loaded the items into the family's mini-van, which they used to stage the daring escape."

Following the incident, the family reported the matter to Bahati Police Station and a manhunt was immediately launched to track down the suspects.

"As the injured man continues to recuperate at a local hospital, efforts are being made to recover the stolen valuables and effect the arrest of the suspects."
