Media personality Debarl Inea has landed a job at the Standard Media Group LTD, the parent company of KTN and KTN News among other broadcast and print outlets.

Inea will be joining the station in the capacity of a news anchor and programmes editor.

Multiple sources who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke stated that the journalist had already been in the station for a week and was currently undergoing induction.

The media personality joins KTN News nine months after he secured a job at K24 TV, replacing Anne Kiguta on the Punchline show, which airs every Sunday.

Standard Media Group is said to have wooed Inea in late 2020 before he joined K24 but he declined the position.

“The Standard Media Management was considering him as a news editor but the journalist wanted to go on air. Given his experience and skills, I would understand why he turned it down,” a source privy to the information told Kenyans.co.ke at the time.

Inea is a talented show host, news anchor and interviewer who knows how to manage conversations and debate between newsmakers and politicians.

In July 2020, he and other personalities including Ken Mijungu left Nation Media Group's NTV for greener pastures.

His exit caught his fans, especially politicians, by surprise with most noting that he was a talented journalist.

“The world is a place where men and women live. They each have their own entry and exit. It shall be well Debarl,” former Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale, expressed at the time.

With the 2022 General Election drawing closer, a lot is bound to change in the media industry with stations seeking to establish dominance in political coverage by poaching top notch journalists.
