European Union Introduces Fully Funded Scholarships For Kenyans: How to Apply

The European Union (EU) has introduced fully-funded scholarships set to benefit Kenyan scholars that will run from 2021 to 2027.

Through a meeting held by EU in collaboration with the European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students (Erasmus) on Tuesday, November 2, stated that Kenyan scholars are now eligible for the coveted scholarship.

The initiative will allow Kenyan students to benefit from exchange programmes from different institutions among the EU member states.

The programme will come with a lot of benefits like assured travel allowances and a monthly stipend.



"By studying abroad with Erasmus plus fully funded scholarships Graduation cap you can improve your communication, language and inter-cultural skills and gain soft skills, highly valued by employers," EU stated on the social media page.

The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green, and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.

It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan, and the European Skills Agenda.

Available Areas Eligible for Scholarships

Areas that are eligible for scholarships include; higher education, vocational education, and training, school education (including early childhood education and care), adult education, youth, and sport.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to submit applications online to the National Agency by selecting Kenya as the relevant country, via the Erasmus+ forms website, or alternatively through the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.

For actions managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the relevant documents by action are open for submission on the Funding and Tender Opportunities Portal.

They must also obtain relevant documents from their institutions authorising their applications.
