  • Emotions ran high at Premier Foods Limited on Friday, November 26, as the company's Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Choge, resigned after serving for nearly four years.

The over 500 employees celebrated his services by carrying him shoulder high, praising him in tunes and dances. Others were overwhelmed by emotions and could not help but shed tears and express how he touched their lives during his tenure at the helm.

So free was the relation between him and the employees that they could be seen occasionally hugging him.

"Goodbyes are never easy. Forever Grateful to my people at Peptang. Forever grateful to you our customers. Let's keep winning together," he stated.

In a previous interview with Peptang, the 39-year-old disclosed that he had managed to run companies successfully by valuing employees. He believes in creating open channels of communication.

Through his open-door policy, employees are free and able to communicate any ideas or fears to the management team.

"This promotes employee well-being by eliminating or reducing any feelings of stress and anxiety, leading to higher productivity.

"One of the best decisions I ever made was choosing the right people to work with. You are who you surround yourself with. I surround myself with smart people who challenge me and have my back," he added.

Choge is heading to Unga Group PLC as the Managing Director. His appointment takes effect on December 31, 2021.

He will be replacing Nicholas ‘Nick’ Hutchinson, whose retirement from the group also takes effect on the same day.

The young CEO has made a name for himself in the corporate world, specifically the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FCMG) sector.

He has previously worked for Unilever, Airtel Gabon and Industrial Promotion Services (IPS).
