Blacky'z Lounge, the popular nightclub located in the Hurlingham area, Nairobi County has been put on auction.

"The property is identified as Blacky'z Lounge along Argwings Khodek Road, next to Chaka place and opposite the Priory within Hurlingham area. The title is held on a leasehold interest for a term of 99 years from August 1, 1979, at a revisable annual ground rent of Ksh3,200," read part of the notice.

According to the notice, the title is registered in the name of Frank Logistics Limited and Rieny Distributors Limited.

"The property is developed with a single storey main club block and a double-storey kitchen block," the notice stated.

The popular club serves as an attraction for a number of revellers due to its alluring perks and featured events.

An inside look at the lounge gives a top-notch exquisite look with quality decor and sound as well as notable DJ's to spice up the party experience.

The entertainment scene was among the worst-hit industries after the country recorded the first case of the global virus in March 2020.

This saw the government resorting to close the popular joints and clubs in a bid to ensure less contact among Kenyans.

However, the government recently lessened the tough measures by allowing the clubs to fully reopen as well as the termination of the dusk to dawn curfew- a relief for clubs to resume normal working hours.

The news comes as the Iconic Dusit complex has also been put up for auction. This is after a court ruling on Friday, December 10, gave Synergy Industrial credit the powers to auction the complex that houses the Dusit complex.

"Taking into consideration the foregoing, the court can but only agree with the applicant’s contention that the timing of the administration was not meant for the purpose known under the act,” Justice Alfred Mabeya ruled.
