1.) Riches to Rags: Athlete Who Bagged Millions, Now Living in Poverty 

The story published on the Kenyans website on August 15, 2021, was the most read this year. The article featured former Kenyan athlete Delilah Asiago, an elite long-distance runner who took the world by storm for almost two decades. 

During her time, she flew the Kenyan flag high in major international competitions scooping gold medals in events such as Steamboat Classic where she set a world record, All Africa Games, and World Championships among others.

Years later, however, Asiago could not account for all the millions that she had made during her heydays.

The story, which bordered on entertainment and media, highlighted the high-end vehicles that news anchors and senior reporters attached to the Royal Media Services-owned station drive.

4.) Story of Boy Who Went Viral Dancing in Front of His Unbothered Parents 

A video of a teenager in school uniform, vigorously dancing to a Jamaican song in front of his grandmother, who seemed unbothered, went viral.

Kenyans.co.ke highlighted the story of the video star by the name Jeremy Maina alias Lil Maina and was the fourth most read on the website.

5.) Employees Shed Tears, Carry High CEO as He Exits Company [VIDEO] 

Former Premier Foods Limited CEO, Joseph Choge, became an internet sensation when over 500 employees celebrated his services by carrying him shoulder high, praising him in tunes and dances for being a good leader.

Choge, who was resigning from the company to join Unga Group PLC, touched the lives of the employees in different ways during his tenure at the helm.

6.) Lulu Hassan Speaks on Ending Citizen TV's Maria Show  

In this story written on February 9, 2021, Jiffy Pictures producer, Lulu Hassan, was addressing reports on whether the Maria show was coming to an end.

The show later came to an end and was replaced by Zora - another locally produced soap opera. Zora airs on Citizen TV at 7:30pm from Monday to Friday.

7.) NMS Announces 240 Jobs; How to Apply  

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) announced 240 vacancies with salaries up to Ksh34,000. These jobs mainly targeted applicants with KCSE mean grades of D plain and above. 

8.) Jalango's Action Against Tahidi High's Omosh Raises Concern

On February 19, 2021, comedian Eddie Butita raised concerns over how media personality Felix Odiwuor (Jalang'o) handled Tahidi High's Omosh during an interview.

Butita and a panel of other presenters stated that it was wrong for the Kiss FM presenter to ask the thespian to vacate his seat so that politician Alinur Mohammed could be interviewed.

A story on the best estates to live in with a salary of Ksh40,000 went viral. The article had been derived from a survey by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) 2020.

With Ksh40,000, which most mid-income workers earn, one can get a better house at an affordable estate in the Nairobi metropolitan area. 

The region comprises five counties namely, Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang'a.

10.) Watch Jeff Koinange, Victoria Rubadiri Dance in Honour of Eliud Kipchoge

Citizen TV News anchors Jeff Koinange and Victoria Rubadiri broke into dance on August 8, 2021, in honour of marathoner Eliud Kipchoge.

The duo honoured Kipchoge after his stellar performance at the  2020 Tokyo Olympics.
