Daniel Ndambuki, who goes by the moniker "Churchill" rallied his fans to raise funds for one of his comedians, Mannerson Oduor Ochieng (Akuku Danger).

During the New year's Eve show at Garden City Mall on Friday, December 31, Churchill took some time off the show and requested those in attendance to stand with the comedian.

Akuku Danger has been in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Nairobi West hospital in Ongata Rongai after one of his lungs collapsed. His family took to social media to highlight the plight of the sensational comedian, urging well wishers to stand with them.

"We are seeking financial support for our brother who is admitted at Nairobi West hospital ICU due to lung failure. He is currently undergoing dialysis. With the several medical procedures involved we are at a burden of an increasing hospital bill. Any financial support will be highly appreciated," read the poster which went viral on social media this past week.

In just minutes, Ksh400,000 had been raised as hundreds Kenyans stood to be counted and in solidarity with the celebrated comedian and his family.

The kind act was lauded by his peers including his co-host at Classic 105, Maina Kageni who described Churchill as "a man who's got a heart of gold."

Fellow comedian Sandra Dacha also lauded Churchill for his effort in assisting Akuku Danger.

"But this man Churchill. He managed to raise 400K yesterday for Akuku Danger in a span of three minutes. What more can I say!

Thank you, " she posted.

This is not the first time that Kenyans have come to the aid of a Churchill comedian. In July 2020, Kenyans raised funds to assist  George Maina (Njoro) to turn his life around.

Days prior, Njoro had highlighted his family's plight - revealing his father was battling stomach cancer. Further, his life had turned topsy-turvy after he suffered depression, which pushed to edge of nearly taking his own life thrice.

Kenyans joined hands to raise funds and help settle medical bills for his ailing father. Njoro further revealed that a local organisation had chipped in.

"We got help from Project Afya which will take care of my dad’s bill. They said that they will pay all the bills. God is good and he is in heaven," Njoro stated.
