Homeboyz Radio presenters have come under fire after mocking a family who made a poster on their missing pet dogs and circulated it on social media.

The morning show presenter, G-Money alias Conrad Gray, made the comments alongside his co-host, Charlie Karumi, who recently joined the station from NRG radio on Thursday, January 27.

The two were called out by one of their listeners who expressed shock on the level of unprofessionalism portrayed by the two for failing to show remorse to the destressed family.

"How dare you make fun of animals, and more so, the families in distress when their pets get lost? How dare you make jokes, ranking them from which neighborhood they come from?" the irate social media user posed.

The duo was further castigated for mocking the animals yet the family was grieving.

"You may not be animal lovers, but surely, some sensitivity to the families experiencing loss is called for?"

According to the poster, the two pedigree dogs went missing and the family provided contact information on how to contact them. From the photo, one appears to be a rare German Spitz dog breed whose market value in Kenya ranges from Ksh15,000 up to Ksh50,000.

"The lost pets mentioned are Bo and Pukki. Bo has sadly been found dead, possibly mauled by other dogs. His family, especially the kids, are devastated," the social media who called out the two presenters noted.

However, G-Money and Charlie have since apologised following their insensitive sentiments.

"Thank you for the apology G-Money, and for calling to do so. The pain of a lost pet may not always be evident, but they are family."

G-Money went ahead to affirm that he had learned from the experience.

G-Money has amassed over 20 years in the entertainment industry across the globe, deejaying for American artists such as Ja Rule, Jay Z, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean among others.

He has established himself as a powerhouse in the media industry through radio. Karumi, on the other hand, has just started making a mark in the radio industry.

In Kenya, all animals are protected by law as enshrined in the constitution. The law prohibits any form of cruelty for both domestic and wild animals.

The laws include; committing violence on the animal, overworking it while unwell, starvation, denial of water, abandonment, poisoning, careless surgery procedures, hunting and killing in a cruel manner, and prolonging the life of an animal in great pain.
