Ford Kenya party leader, Moses Wetangula has come out accusing the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General, Francis Atwoli of sponsoring the wrangles within his party and Amani National Congress (ANC).

Speaking during a joint Kenya Kwanza political rally in Vihiga County, Wetangula claimed that Atwoli masterminded the chaos and fallout witnessed in the two parties, leading to the mass exits.

According to the Bungoma Senator, Atwoli allegedly held meetings behind closed doors with some of the party members in Kisumu, resulting to the mass exodus witnessed in both parties in the recent weeks.

"All the disunity and wrangles witnessed in ANC and Ford Kenya  have been organised here in Kisumu by the man who wears chains known as Atwoli," remarked Wetangula.

He further called out the COTU boss and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, for reportedly working in cahoots to dent their political careers following their exit from the Nasa coalition.

In what Wetangula termed as blatant ingratitude by the Azimio la Umoja patriarch, he accused Odinga of resorting to bullying them because they formed a political pact with Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

"In 2013, I carried his cross for him. In 2013 and 2017, Musalia and I carried Raila Odinga's cross. Now, those who we walked with earlier have no gratitude, now they want to disorient and  bully us," the former Nasa Principal stated.

The lawyer vowed that he and his ANC counterpart would stand firm in support of DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

Wetangula's comments were reiterated by the country's Second-in-Command, who added that the Kenya Kwanza alliance brought together leaders who would prioritize the needs of Kenyans and shelve personal ambitions.

"The last time I was here, you asked me to team up with Mudavadi and Wetangula, haven't we done that? We have united so that we put and end to those who want to disorient us with matters of creating new leadership positions.

"We have not teamed up so that Mudavadi ,Wetangula, or Ruto gets the it (the Presidency). We are uniting so that the issues facing the ordinary citizens are addressed accordingly," the DP stated.

Mudavadi and Wetangula have suffered massive losses in the run up to the solemnization of their political union with Ruto. Lugari MP Ayub Savula, who was ANC's deputy party leader dumped Mudavadi, joining Odinga's Azimio la Umoja bandwagon. ANC has also lost several Western Kenya MPs, including Tindi Mwale of Butere and Titus Khamala of Lurambi who have since decamped to Odinga's side.

For Wetangula, the FORD Kenya fracas and failed coup, left the Lion party split right in the middle, with Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi forming DAP-Kenya, which is affiliated to Azimio la Umoja.
