New details have emerged in the scuffle that ensued between a police boss and his two juniors at a local entertainment joint in Kasarani, Nairobi.

It has emerged that the senior officer is accused of threatening a lady at the Seasons Lounge and Grill, located a few kilometres from the station.

Media reports indicated that the crime and investigations officer based at Kayole police station was having his car serviced near the joint, when he noticed the lady smoking inside the pub.

The senior police officer immediately approached her and asked her to stop smoking, pointing out that it was not good for her.

Agitated, the unidentified woman is said to have stepped out briefly before she returned with two cops who took issue with the senior officer's words.

The two officers, based at Kasarani police station, sought to know why the senior cop had allegedly threatened the lady. After disarming the senior cop, the junior officers placed a gun to the officer's head threatening to fire.

After firing several shots in the air, they forced the police boss out of the pub, handcuffed him and frogmarched him to the Kasarani police station. The junior cops are also said to have descended on the helpless man with heavy blows.

The senior cop was, however, freed after the intervention of the Kasarani police boss. The two officers were later apprehended and detained until the investigations are completed.

"A call from above released the superintendent and saw the junior detained," read part of the police report seen by Kenyans.co.ke

This is not an isolated incident involving police officers with cases of cops assaulting colleagues becoming common and partly attributed to mental health issues.
