Cop Confronts Nairobi Driver, Jumps Into Car Through Window[VIDEO]

There was drama along Kenyatta Avenue within the Nairobi Central Business District as a police officer engaged a motorist in a heated exchange before jumping into the car through the window.

In a video recording that has since gone viral captured the cop trying to gain access into the car through the door but it appeared locked from inside.

His efforts to further convince the motorist to open the door proved futile compelling the agitated cop to force his way into the car through the window as the traffic began to flow along that route.

By the time of this publication, the National Police Service (NPS) had not issued a statement regarding the incident. It also remains unclear what prompted the cop to force his way through the window.

Other cops were seen going on with their duties unbothered with the drama involving their colleague.

This incident comes just days after another video emerged online showing a motorist fighting a cop a long the busy Mombasa road.

The police officer however managed to scamper for safety but visibly hurt from the pain inflicted by heavy blows from the motorist.

From a glimpse, the cop's shirt appeared torn, with its top buttons missing.  His lanyard was also pulled out of its positioning on the uniform.

The motorist was however later apprehended. The law bars civilians from fighting the police or engaging in any altercation.

According to the law, police officers are not allowed to use force while enforcing traffic rules. To help motorist understand their basic rights, the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) published guidelines on how motorists should handle traffic matters.

The guidelines detailed that motorists caught violating traffic rights should not be detained without being granted time, place and adequate facilities to pay fines or bail.

"A suspected offender shall be issued with Court Summons or a Notification to Attend Court (NTAC) on a convenient date within seven days. The Notice shall state charges and indicate the maximum penalty," guidelines read in part.
