Veteran TV journalist, Alex Chamwada, together with employees from his two companies, surprised his mother during the Easter festivities.

In a social media post on his Twitter account on Monday, April 18, the former Citizen TV journalist posted videos of their visit to Ellongo village in Vihiga County.

Chamwada then proceeded to embrace the mother even as the rest of the team introduced themselves.

On her part, Chamwada's mother welcomed the team to her home, expressing pride in the achievements of her son.

"This is my eldest son and is known as Alex Chamwada. I am so happy that you have come to visit us because when visitors come, you always feel happy.

"I warmly welcome you to my home and with the newly opened offices in Kisumu, I am sure we will also be visiting you there," she stated.

Consequently, Chamwada thanked his employees for their noble gesture of surprising his mother with household gifts such as foodstuff.

"Thank you team from Chams Media and Chams Adventures for visiting my village - Ellongo in Vihiga County and giving my mum - Elizabeth aka Sabeti a memorable Pasaka (Easter) treat. We are blessed," he stated.

In the past, the journalist has organised surprise visits to people who shaped his career from childhood. Together with his former classmates from St Peters Boys Mumias High School, they surprised their former principal, Cassianus Ijait Aluku, who served in the institution in the 80s and 90s.

On previous occasions, he stated that Aluku inspired him during his time at the school, adding that he was the man behind his motivations to start his famous TV show, Daring Abroad.

"He dared me to dare the world. And I have done it," stated Chamwada in the past.
