City lawyer, Kamotho Waiganjo, surprised his wife, Kirinyaga governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru with a post-birthday party attended by family and close friends.
Waiguru shared the video on Tuesday, April 19, noting that she was grateful for the love and affection.
“Had some fun birthday lunch with the family yesterday. What a blessing!” She wrote.
In the video, the husband, the children and friends coordinated with the hotel staff to throw her a surprise party.
A jovial Waiguru is seen smiling and gesturing at the husband, arguing that he was the brainchild behind the surprise party.
“Happy birthday dear mama,” the family sang.
Waiganjo, on the other hand, enjoyed the stunned look on the wife’s face. Waiguru turned 51 years on Saturday, April 16.
The governor is keen on winning her second term in office via a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
However, she has also been touted as a possible running mate for Deputy President, William Ruto, alongside Mathira Member of Parliament, Rigathi Gachagua, and Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi.
Others include MPs Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Alice Wahome (Kandara), National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and Tharaka Nithi Senator, Kithure Kindiki.
“We are breaking the glass ceiling in this election. The first female deputy president loading," Nairobi Woman Representative aspirant, Millicent Omanga, tweeted and captioned a photo of Waiguru in April 2022.
Ruto also previously hinted at selecting a woman leader as his running mate in 2022.
“It is high time women were given equal opportunity in politics and development of the nation. The two-thirds gender rule should be given priority in any discussion involving the Constitution. That is why I am ready to have a woman as my deputy,” he stated in a past rally.
