List of Nairobi Estates to Go Without Water for 24Hrs

The Nairobi City Water and Sewage Company Ltd (NCWSC) has announced a 24-hour water supply interruption across various estates within the county.

In a notice dated Tuesday, April 26, the water firm stated that the disruption will start on Wednesday, April 27, and end on Thursday, April 28, further explaining that the shortage will be occasioned by the ongoing construction of the Expressway.

Notably, the Central Business District (CBD) and estates surrounding it will be affected by the planned disruption.

"Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company Ltd ( NCWSC ) will shut down the water supply pipeline along Uhuru Highway due to ongoing construction of the Express Way / Mombasa Road starting from 6:00 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, to Thursday, 28 April 28, 2022, at 6:00 am

"Areas to be affected include the whole of City Centre, Ngara, Parklands, Aga Khan Hospital, area along Limuru Road, Main Campus of the University of Nairobi including Parkland Law Campus," read the notice in part.

Nairobi Water added that they would take the time to repair pipes that were leaking along the 27 Kilometer road, especially around Uhuru Highway.

"This will facilitate repair of a major leak on the relocated new water pipelines at Uhuru park along Uhuru Highway to enable the release of the road corridor to the Expressway road contractor. 

"The works will also involve installing a line valve for water supply control to the Central Business area at Uhuru Park," Nairobi water stated.

Other areas that will be affected by the supply disruption include estates along Mombasa road, and Jogoo Road such as Buruburu and Bahati center.

"Areas that will also be affected include estates along Mombasa Road, South B & South C areas and the neighborhoods, University of Nairobi Main Campus. Coca-Cola Factory, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and EPZ Athi River.

"The whole Industrial Area, General Services Unit and Administration Police Training Schools in Embakasi, Embakasi Village, Tassia 1 and Fedha Estate, Areas along Jogoo Road: City Stadium, Maringo, Bahati , Buruburu, and the surrounding estates will also be affected," read the notice in part.

Further, the agency stated that they would ensure that the works are concluded on time to restore the normal water supply.

"We appeal to our customers for indulgence and also urge them to use available water sparingly as we work towards restoring the supply. Any inconvenience is highly regretted," read the notice in part.
