The much-awaited Nairobi Expressway is slated to be opened on a trial basis on Saturday, May 14, ending months of anticipation among motorists eager to use the 27.1 kilometre road.
The elevated road, built at a whopping cost of Ksh88 billion, is expected to ease traffic, especially along the busy Mombasa Road, and link Westlands to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
To use the road, motorists will have to register access to the Manual Toll Card (MTC) and Electronic Toll Card (ETC) as an alternative to the cash mode of payment. At the moment, mobile money payments are not allowed.Nairobi Expressway project near Chiromo Road interchangeMoja Expressway
