Deputy President William Ruto's battalion has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for snubbing their leader during the 2022 Madaraka Day celebrations.

Speaking after a football match in Kikuyu Constituency on Wednesday, June 1, the team, which included Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, reminded the President that his term had come to an end.

They argued that even if the President had not let the DP speak, they were confident that their leader would be the head of state in the upcoming round of national events.

They further took the opportunity to remind Uhuru that the Madaraka Day event would be his last chance to undermine Ruto, who is seeking to succeed him in the August 9 General Election.

"It is amazing Mr President that your guest, the President of Sierra Leone could acknowledge the presence of your deputy but you couldn't. It is a terrible shame. It is a blow to the integrity of our country," stated Wetangula.

"Today is your last day of undermining DP Ruto. Even if our fifth President has not been given a chance to address the nation today, he will be given a chance to lead all Kenyans on August 9," corroborated Nyoro.

Former Kiambu Governor, who was also in attendance, reminded the Head of State that his time was up and told him to pack and leave maintaining confidence that Ruto would ascend to assume his place.

"My friend's Madaraka has ended. The upcoming one is for hustler nation," he stated.

"We are reminded by Christians that those who ridicule you today, will respect you tomorrow. That is what we remind the Deputy President today," stated Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie.

Ruto, on the other hand, steered clear of the talk and maintained that his politics was anchored in the economy and that he would seek to better the lives of Kenya once elected.

This election is about one thing, the economy. Everything else is a sideshow and distraction. Our competitors have no track record on anything to do with the economy. They are just politicians," stated Ruto.

Prior to the celebrations held at Uhuru Gardens, Uhuru had also snubbed the DP by failing to invite him for a meeting with Cabinet Secretaries at State House, Nairobi.

At the event, he also broke protocol by inviting Sierra Leone President to make an address and skipped over his deputy.
