Among the notable politicians who missed the rallies include Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung'wah, Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi, as well as Tujibebe party leader, William Kabogo.

A spot-check by Kenyans.co.ke revealed that Ichung'wah was in Parliament where they were discussing issues dealing with the expansion of the country's tax base and how the tax authority ought to be restructured.

On the other hand, Kabogo led a troop of Kenya Kwanza affiliates to Gatundu North constituency in order to seek support for his Kiambu gubernatorial bid.

"Today at Gatundu North constituency, making rounds and affirming to the people that I will be seeking their support on the forthcoming Kiambu county gubernatorial race come August 9, 2022," Kabogo wrote in a statement.

Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate, William Ruto, led a campaign in Wajir county alongside deputy governor, Ali Werar, MPs Ahmed Kolosh, Aden Duale and former Senator Abdirahman Ali Hassan.

Dubbing his campaign the Mt. Kenya economic conversation, Gachagua was accompanied by MPs Alice Wahome (Kandara), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), and Charles Njagua (Starehe).

Others include Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata, ANC Secretary General, Simon Gikuru, Kiambu Senator, Kimani Wamatangi,  Kangema MP aspirant, Peter Kihungi, and UDA Secretary for legal affairs Edward Muriu among others.

While touring the Mt Kenya region, the leaders poked holes at the Azimio la Umoja manifesto as well as criticised Raila Odinga's remarks on mitumba that had elicited debate in the past 24 hours.
