Former Kameme FM presenter Njogu wa Njoroge has joined Kayu FM 91.0, five months after being fired by MediaMax.
In a statement, Njoroge promised captivating shows that would educate and entertain his listeners. He also took the time to congratulate his fans for taking the time to follow his journey across the media industry.
The presenter thanked his boss, Rose Kimotho, for the opportunity to grace the airwaves after a five-month hiatus where he ventured into politics.
"Thank you my people. I will forever be grateful to God and to all of you. He is a God of another chance. I promise you a balanced, issue-based morning show. I love you all. Thanks, Rose Kimotho and the entire KAYÛ FM 91.0 fraternity for the warm reception," he wrote.
Prior to his hiring, Njoroge had tried his hand in politics but lost the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations for the Njoro parliamentary seat.
At the time, he noted that he respected the will of Njoro residents and promised to work with the incumbent legislator, Charity Kathambi.
"Our ambition, vision, and dream for Njoro has been overtaken by a better vision. We are satisfied. I wish Hon Charity Kathambi all the best. May God use you to make the lives of Njoro people better," he stated.
In a past interview with Kenyans.co.ke, Njoroge had revealed that he was fired by Kameme TV through a phone call from the station's management- terming it as a political witch hunt due to his affiliation with the UDA outfit.
"I received a phone call from the Programs Controller, who asked me not to report to work, permanently. It is because of my affiliations, nothing else. I would have resigned to go and concentrate on politics," he noted.
The presenter joined Kameme FM in 2019 and hosted a night show dubbed Thingira- a political segment that allowed listeners to voice their opinions.
Before joining Kameme FM, the journalist had stints at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation - KBC, Inooro FM and Gukena FM.
Njoroge now joins a renowned list of presenters who decamped to the newly based station including former Kameme FM presenters Moses Kanyira, Peninah Muthoni Mbugua (PM Squared), Evans Wanyoike, Wambui wa Mwangi, Machangi Man Solo Papa, and former 3-stones TV presenter Njoroge Wa Gichini.
