He was further linked to at least 3 murders committed within Mawanga area.

"All the murders targeted women and were committed during the day, with the victims’ bodies being found in the bedroom after being set ablaze," the DCI statement read in part.

After grilling by the detectives, the suspect confessed to killing 7 people in cold blood

The arrest follows an executive order issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta and a high security meeting chaired by Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i.

Matiang'i further re-organised the police unit by moving Kasarani Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD), Peter Mwanzo, to Nakuru. He was promoted to the rank of County Commander.

Before the reshuffle, Matiang'i had held a series of meetings with leaders from the region with the aim of addressing the escalating insecurity issues.

"Following an update from security teams on the success of the ongoing operations to arrest members of the 'Confirm' gang, we met with community and religious leaders from Nakuru and assured them of sustained government pressure to end the menacing gang," Matiang'i stated.

Several political leaders from the region  have also been grilled following the mysterious killings including Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament, David Gikaria.
