After a demanding election cycle, President-elect William Ruto is set to be inaugurated as Kenya's fifth President in a ceremony attended by heads of state at Kasarani.

The Deputy President was declared president-elect after garnering 50.4 per cent of the total valid vote cast during the August 9 General Election and fulfilled the constitutional requirement to ascend to the highest office on the land without a run-off.

Subsequently, his victory was upheld by the Supreme Court in its ruling on a petition challenging his win filed by his main competitor Raila Odinga.

On Monday, September 12, outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta gave him a tour of State House and congratulated him on his win.
