Kenya Kwanza Nominates Ichung'wah, Tabitha Karanja for Parliamentary Leadership

Kenya Kwanza Coalition has unveiled the list of leaders set to take up both Senate and National Assembly House leadership positions. 

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah was nominated for the position of leader majority of the National Assembly, while Kilifi North MP Owen Baya was fronted as his deputy.

South Mugirango lawmaker Sylvanus Osoro was proposed as the Majority Whip, with nominated MP Naomi Waqo, deputising him.

In the Senate, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot was fronted as leader of the majority, with Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja picked as his deputy.

Kakamega senator Boniface Khalwale was fronted for the Majority Whip position with Samburu senator, Steve Lelegwe, as his deputy.

These names were unveiled during the party Parliamentary Group meeting held in Naivasha on Saturday, September 17.

The meeting was headed by President William Ruto, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and other leaders in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The team will battle with the Azimio La Umoja Coalition counterparts nominated for parliamentary leadership.

The Raila-led faction fronted Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi for Leader of Majority seat in the National Assembly while his Suna East counterpart Junet Mohamed, for the majority whip position.

Nominated MP Sabina Chege was nominated for the Minority Whip position in the 13th assembly. 

With both sides battling for the Majority positions, Speaker Moses Wetangula is set to determine which faction will take the majority.

In the Senate, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced that Azimio had settled for the minority side as they are less than one senator.

Kilifi Stewart Madzayo was picked for the position of Senate Leader of Minority.
