A plan to burn down a dorm by a group of students from Gikumene Secondary school went awry and ended up having them arrested.
The school girls had hitched a plan that even saw them buy petrol in preparation for the exercise.
Unfortunately for them, a petrol station attendant got suspicious and called and alerted the school principal, Classic 105 reports.
The principal, with the aid of the school watch man laid a trap for the group.
One of the girls was caught while going for the petrol after lights out.
Despite initial denial, the girl eventually confessed and named the seven others involved in the plan.
Commending the act of a concerned citizen by the petrol station attendant, Meru OCPD Sammy Kosgey urged the public to be on the look out and report any suspicious incidents.
The girls are in police custody as investigations into the matter continue.
