A cyclist, Jack Siro, was lauded for aiding a disabled man to visit his sick child admitted at a hospital in Muthiga, along Waiyaki Way.

As he cycled along the highway on Thursday, October 13. the cyclist was touched by the man who was riding his wooden tricycle from Dandora.

"I sympathised with him and decided to push him to Kangemi where I bought a rope and used it to pull him while cycling at a tempo of 10km/hr," the cyclist stated.

His kind gesture won him accolades online.

"What an act of humanity, really amazing. Kenyan cyclist Jack Siro to pull a physically impaired man on his wooden tricycle along Waiyaki Way," Sikika Road Safety posted on Facebook.

"On a sad day when all hopes of humanity were almost crushed, a glimmer of hope shows up," one user stated.

While others were moved by the act of kindness, others were not as enthusiastic about publicising good deeds.

Critics online faulted Siro suggesting that he should have given the money to fund his fare rather than pull him on the highway.

"I personally don't encourage this, though the heart was well intended, the act was ill-advised. This could have led to a bad accident and the whole world would pounce on him (the cyclist). Never repeat this again," stated one of the critics.

"When you are doing charity work, make sure you leave the camera at home," another argued.

The cyclist, who was caught off-guard by the critics, wondered why they couldn't appreciate his decision.

“You will never fail to spot the dark-minded Kenyans planting seeds of negativity wherever good deeds are the order of the day," the cyclist responded on Friday, October 14.
