Three Kenyan hotels were named among the most preferred tourist destinations for billionaires in the world.

In the Cent-Millionaire Report released by UK investment firm, Henley & Partners, Giraffe Manor, andBeyond Kichwa Tembo & Tented Camp, and Angama Mara were named among the top hotels frequented by the world's filthy rich.

In particular, the report noted that the three hotels were mostly frequented by American tycoons.

A centi-millionaire is a tycoon whose assets are estimated to be above Ksh12 billion.

"Tourism has also created a market for luxury brands to tap into. American centi-millionaires travelling to Kenya for the annual animal migration boost the nation’s tourism industry.

"Luxury hotels and lodges such as Giraffe Manor, andBeyond Kichwa Tembo & Tented Camp, and Angama Mara cashing in to accommodate their moneyed guests," read the report in part.

The three hotels were named alongside other luxurious hotels in France, such as Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat and Hôtel de Crillon, as tourism dominated the expenditure trends witnessed among the tycoons.

"For the super-rich, luxury is a lifestyle, and brands are their daily bread. There are several trends in the universe of luxury brands, with gender and tourism being key playing cards for the makers of fine things," Swan Maison Concierge boss, Maryanne Maina stated.

Giraffe Manor is an exclusive tourism centre based in Nairobi known to be among the most Instagrammed hotel worldwide. andBeyond Kichwa Tembo & Tented Camp, on the other hand, is a resort based in Masai Mara.

The hotel charges its guest from Ksh30,000 to Ksh50,000 per night for its tents.

Agama Mara is an exquisite hotel that charges Ksh260,000 per night for its visitors during its peak season. The resort is located in the Maasai Mara reserve.

The number of tourists is expected to grow in the next 10 years at the rate of 55 per cent, according to the report.

This growth was credited to the economic development of the country and the state of media freedom.

"It is important that major news outlets in a country are neutral and objective. A well-developed financial media space is especially important as it helps to disseminate information to investors. European and North American countries score strongly here, as do Australia, India, Kenya, New Zealand, and South Africa," read the report in part.

However, Uganda and Rwanda beat Kenya in the projected growth at 65 and 70 per cent, respectively.
