This year's Mashujaa Day was not without its glitz and glamour as high-profile politicians made grand entrances at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi county on Thursday, October 20.

Among the politicians who graced the national event was Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja who stormed the venue with his signature Lexus 570. 

The vehicle made its way to Uhuru Gardens flanked by security personnel who cleared the path of any obstructions.

The governor stepped out of the vehicle and proceeded to have a casual chat with some of the media personalities before acknowledging greetings from a section of Kenyans who were already seated. 

Features

Hailed as the 'pinnacle of on-road, off-road luxury', the vehicle is Toyota's luxurious sport utility vehicle as it is engineered to cruise on tough terrains.

The LX 570 also consists of advanced technology and safety features. With an eight-cylinder (V8) engine, the vehicle produces 362 horsepower and an acceleration of 7.7 seconds to reach 100 kilometres. The machine's top speed is 210 kilometres per hour. 

The car consists of powerful suspensions to support the tyres. In addition, the wheels have 21-inch Alloy in Medium Gray Metallic and a bright finish. 

The interior is customised with leather seats that are exquisitely trimmed to maximise comfort. The front seats are built like armchairs to accommodate long-distance driving.  According to international sources, the vehicle costs an average of Ksh25 million. 

Car Collection

Sakaja, in a past interview, revealed that he purchased his first car, a Mercedes Benz W140 saloon, in his early twenties after working in former President Mwai Kibaki's campaign team. 

His car collection consists of a Mercedes E250, Range Rover Vogue, Volkswagen Touareg and Land Rover Defender among others.
