KPLC Announces Attachment Opportunities: How to Apply

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) announced attachment opportunities for students pursuing degree and diploma programs in various courses. 

According to a notice dated Tuesday, November 8, the attachment sessions will commence in January 2023 and run for three months. 

The opportunities are also open for students pursuing mechanical, electrical and automotive engineering certificate programs. 

Other categories eligible for the programs are Vocational Education Training (TVET) students taking courses in carpentry and joinery, building technology, welding and fabrication, and plumbing.

According to KPLC, the program aims to equip learners with employable skills in line with the government's commitment to providing support for youth empowerment. 

“In line with the Government's commitment to supporting youth empowerment, Kenya Power is offering continuing Bachelor's Degree, Diploma students on various programs an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on work experience and develop key employability skills," read the notice in part. 

How to  apply

Interested persons were invited to submit their applications online through the Kenya Power website: under the Public Information tab and Career Opportunities section.

The deadline for the applications was set for Thursday, November 22. 

Requirement 

According to KPLC, the applicants should be continuing students pursuing a degree or diploma courses in recognized institutions. 

The attaches will be required to be available full-time for the three months duration of the program. 

Further, the applicants ought to submit a valid introduction letter from the learning institution. 

The shortlisted will be contacted by the company. Notable, the lighting company warned against any form of canvassing, noting that any case would lead to automatic disqualification.
