Drama ensued at the Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday, November 16, after a lawyer attacked his client's husband.

In the video that has since gone viral, the two men were seen walking along the court's corridors before a verbal altercation ensued.

The lawyer turned towards the businessman and threw the first punch.

"Do not insult me, and don't move close to me (usinikaribie)," the lawyer shouted before the duo was separated by a lady dressed in a green coat.

However, the war of words continued, and the irked lawyer threw a second jab. The victim quickly ducked as the punch landed on the wall.

The lawyer then picked up an item he had dropped, clutched his briefcase, and hurriedly left the scene as the victim followed. The latter, however, disappeared into an adjacent room as the lawyer went towards the far end of the corridor.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke journalist Dennis Shisia, the advocate claimed that the client's husband provoked him. The husband reportedly interrupted a discussion between him and a journalist.

"I saw the journalist recording and requested some privacy, but the journalist kept on recording, stating that it was their work.

"Out of nowhere, the accused started telling me to focus on the case instead of arguing with the journalist," he explained.

Notably, he expressed remorse over the incident and revealed that he had already reported the incident at the Capitol Hill Police Station. A second report was also filed with the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).

On the other hand, the businessman sustained a few bruises on his leg. Consequently, proceedings of the case were postponed, with his lawyer citing tension that rose after the altercation.

"My leg is clearly swollen. I chose not to retaliate because I would have jeopardised the case," the businessman argued.
