Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja took time to enjoy a ride in a pimped city bus as he carried out his official duties.
Sakaja was seemingly amused by the unique sound of the car honking. He continuously honked while he giggled before disembarking.
He was in the Central Business District (CBD) on Sunday, November 20 where he flagged off the annual Grand Bike Race.
Sakaja also joined the National Traffic and Safety Authority (NTSA) in marking the World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims.
He pledged to work together with the road safety authority to ensure the safety of all road users as well as provide facilities for bikes in the road designs.
The county boss was accompanied by other officials including Senator Edwin Sifuna and Women Representative Esther Passaris.
Passaris joined Nairobians to participate in the race, bracing the chilly morning in her sporty gear, crowned with a safety helmet.
Notably, the bright red colour of the bus that Sakaja rode in made it stand out on the road. On the outside, the vehicle had different artwork.
On the side mirrors, the bus was adorned with reflector jackets to make the day's events.
Several Sacco officials joined the governor, who was in the driver's seat, in the vehicle showing him some of the bus' features.
City bus owners are known to modify their vehicles to endear themselves to the youthful generation of the market clientele and keep up with the trends. The pimped PSVs are commonly known as Nganya.
