Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is among politicians in the country who do not shy away from showing off what they own, having vast business interests.
The politician has invested heavily in real estate, transport and the hospitality industry.
His political career has however been a bag of mixed fortunes having served as Makadara member of parliament, Nairobi senator and Nairobi governor. Besides, Sonko has palatial homes in Nairobi, Malindi and Machakos counties - at least those known.

The governor also has of a mansion at Mua Hills in Machakos County.
The home is estimated to have cost over Ksh150 million.
The palatial house spots a gold theme on its perimeter wall and has the name ‘Sonko’s Family Farm’ prominently embedded on the main entrance.

Sonko, who was locked out of the Mombasa gubernatorial race in August 2022 polls, has a sprawling farm at his Mua home where he grows vegetables and rears livestock.
Malindi Home
The former governor has also a multimillion beach house in Malindi.
Sonko who was born in Muthetheni, Makueni County grew up in coast region after his father migrated to Shimba Hills in Kwale.

On November 19, Sonko hosted Senator Raphael Chimera who was accompanied by other coastal politicians Feisal Badar, Khatib Mwashetani, Benjamin Tayari and Sharrif Ali
