Citizen TV anchor, Trevor Ombija, on Wednesday, November 30, confirmed that his restaurant was not among those closed in the county crackdown.

While speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Ombija explained that his Ksh60 million stylishly luxurious eatery was not in the list released by the Governor Johnson Sakaja-led administration.

"The restaurant has fully complied with all county and national governmental regulations," Ombija asserted.

"We are operational as always," he added.

The restaurant, according to the renowned journalist, is still serving members of the public.

"We did not make any mistake, in the first place," Ombija distanced himself from closure reports.

His Samaki Samaki high-end restaurant is located in the affluent neighbourhood of Kileleshwa along Othaya Road.

It is configured around sea food and jazz to capture the high-brow taste of its surroundings.

On Wednesday, October 12, Ombija was promoted to explain criticism targeting his joint, after a neighbour accused it of flouting city laws.

Samaki Samaki was alleged to have played music higher than the recommended level. Ombija, however, explained that he offered to soundproof the neighbours' house but his efforts proved futile.

"I have a neighbour who wanted us to shut down because I did not give her a landscaping job," Ombija stated.

"We reduced our volume completely, all other neighbours were okay with our attempts, except one. So I offered to go the extra mile of soundproofing as a last resort."

Nairobi County on Tuesday, November 29, unveiled theSound Synthesis Technology to identify noisy restaurants, night clubs and pubs.

The county ordered the closure of more than 20 clubs due to noise pollution.
