The Business Bay Square (BBS) mall in Eastleigh Nairobi is to revolutionise the retail experience in Kenya.

Business strategists and architectures describe it as a world-class interactive and integrated mixed-use development project.

This mega project is expected to be the largest mall in East and Central Africa, hosting 3,500 shops for both local and international brands.

In addition, BBS will hold 150,000 visitors daily with 2,200 parking spaces, 32 restaurants, 364 toilets, and 12 banks.

"Business Bay Square Mall is modeled to be a unique one-stop Centre for commerce that offers the ultimate shopping experience, Business Bay Square comprises several levels of retail space that include a Souk Market and a variety of shops," BBS wrote on its Instagram.

The mall restaurants will offer customers a wide range of food and beverage services. Also, customers in a hurry will be served in the comfort of their cars within minutes.

"There will also be some elite class fine dining outlets which will exhibit classy articles in the house and provide elaborate food services including international cuisines," the BBS mall stated on its website.

Also, the ultra-modern mall will be home to three major hospitals offering various facilities to outpatients.

"The facility shall provide consultation, pharmacies, laboratories, diagnosis, and treatment services for outpatients. It shall also be serviced by an independent lobby, lifts, and ambulance bay at the entry level," the BBS mall stated on its website.

Additionally, the mall will be home to a seven-star hotel expected to accommodate 130 to 150 rooms. It will have a modern minimalist design.

At the ambitious mall, Kenyans will also get a chance to rent luxurious apartment units with a lounge area, domestic servant quarter, laundry area, world-class swimming pools, landscaped parks, and playgrounds. It includes one and two-bedroom serviced apartments and three-bedroom luxury apartments.

Other facilities offered at the mega mall include a mosque, entertainment facilities, office spaces, events and exhibitions, and kids' fun and games.

The mosque on the third floor is envisioned to accommodate around 1,500 persons comfortably.

Some of the key objectives of the mall are to have a reliable online shopping platform with E-commerce capabilities and achieve and maintain outstanding customer service that will ensure an 80 per cent customer retention rate.

This project was divided into two phases, and it is alleged that the first phase is 90 per cent complete.

"The second phase of the project, comprising the Hotel and Services Apartment Towers will begin once the first phase is wrapped up," the BBS mall stated on its website.

On Friday, December 10, Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria visited the mega building to check on the progress.

According to the CS, the mall is ready for use at the hub of the busy Eastleigh area
