Radio queen Wamucii wa Kinyari, on Thursday, December 16, announced her departure from Muoroto FM just five days after her husband’s pleaded with President William Ruto for a job.

In a statement, Kinyari celebrated the achievement she had made and appreciated Muoroto FM for giving her the chance of running two shows.

The presenter hosted two Gospel shows including Riruka and Kirima-ini.

“Everything that has a beginning has an end. Today I am grateful for the opportunity of running the two gospel shows Riruka and Kirima-ini on Muoroto FM.

“Thank you to the management and to the head of radio Wakarindi Wa Ndiithi and Wambui Wa Kamande, the grace of God is sufficient, keep going,” she stated.

Wa Kinyari assured her followers and colleagues that the departure was not an end to her reign on the airwaves and promised to bounce back in due course.

She, however, remained mum on her next course of action.

“To all my colleagues, thank you for letting us do it together. To all of you who follow me within the borders of our country Kenya and those who do from the diaspora, thank you for believing in the ministry of encouragement. May God forever bless you.

"This is not the end of the radio ministry. I will keep evolving by God's grace. See you at the next one. A new leaf has to be turned,” she noted.

The radio presenter joined Muoroto FM after quitting Mediamax-owned radio station Kameme FM in March 2021.

At the station, she began as a radio marketer and later became a radio presenter through presenter Lucy Wangunjiri’s mentorship.

She would host several shows such as Kumatha Ngai, Rwiga rwa Kiroho,  Kwigagura Kiroho and Riri Ruo-ini.

Wamucii left Muoroto FM just five days after her husband, William Wachira pleaded with Ruto for a job.

Appearing for a one-on-one interview on Youtube Channel Reke Ciume na Ene hosted by Ala C, he revealed that the president had promised him a job despite having vied unsuccessfully for the Gilgil Member of Parliament seat in the last general election.

“Please give me the seat you promised me while in Narok. Life has become quite tough,” he appealed.
