Wamucii wa Kinyari’s husband, William Wachira, pleaded with President William Ruto to deliver his promise, arguing that he was struggling to make ends meet.

The husband to the former Kameme FM presenter stated that Ruto had promised to award him with a seat despite the election's outcome.

Speaking on the vlog Reke Ciume Na Ene on Tuesday, December 13, Wachira added that a new job would enable him to provide for his family and also turn his life around.

“Please give me the seat you promised me while in Narok. Life has become quite tough.

"At least I will be able to look after my kids. There is a time I was at State House, and I know I will get another invite very soon,” he prayed.

In the message that also targeted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wachira underlined that he qualified for various seats in the government.

“There was a promise. I can be an ambassador or an Education cabinet secretary. I have the required education and the strength to serve the people.

"All am praying for is a network to reach there,” he announced.

Political past

Wachira has unsuccessfully vied for political seats in two general elections. In 2013, he vied for a Member of the County Assembly seat but failed. The politician attributed the loss to his marital status.

“I failed because people were not used to me as a leader. That is part of village life. They failed to vote for me because I was not married and I had come from a poor family," he stated.

In a bid to resonate with the people, Wachira tied the knot before engaging in other political activities.

In 2022, he took another stab in politics and sought to vie as the Gilgil Member of Parliament. Driven by passion, Wachira believed he could be the voice of hope and change in society.

Despite not clinching the United Democratic Alliance ticket for the Gilgil seat, Wachira endeavoured to vie on an independent ticket.

He, however, lost the seat to UDA's Martha Wangari who retained her seat with 35,363 votesWachira garnered 428 votes.

The politician attributed his loss to financial instability and family issues.

“I was not fully prepared. This time the Gilgil residents supported my political ambitions. I believe I was just facing a lot of challenges. I was not stable financially. I joined the race too late and I was a member of the United Democratic Alliance, a great supporter of Ruto,” he uttered.

In spite of his two previous flaws, Wachira affirmed that he would restrategise on his political step.

After taking time off politics, Wachira currently continues with his duty of motivational speaking, where he engages in youth and marriage counselling.
