Trip Advisor Ranks Kenya Among 7 Best Holiday Destinations Worldwide

After wrapping up the year 2022, it would be a good treat to add refreshing trips your calendar. 

In its ranking of the best countries one can tour all over the world in January 2023, Trip Advisor - a respected chronicler of travel and adventure, announced that Kenya is among the best seven destinations.

According to the outlet, Kenya hosts some of the most incredible species on earth and accords tourists a wildlife and safari adventure.

“Take a multi-day guided safari tour of the Mara River and see animal crossings you’re used to seeing on Planet Earth

"Another scenic adventure includes a trip to Amboseli National Park, where you’ll see giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and more, with a breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro,” Trip Advisor described.

In addition, Kenya offers the best place for an educational trip at David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Nursery where orphaned elephants are safely homed.

“Keep in mind that visiting hours at the nursery are short and advanced booking is required,” the report further stated.

For the lucky tourists who will visit Kenya at the end month, they will experience Nairobi Restaurant Week, when restaurants in Nairobi offer discounts on a variety of menus. 

Kenya was ranked on the list alongside other scenic countries including Morocco, Sri Lanka, Barbados and Ncaragua.

Morocco

The outlet praised the country's snowy slopes good for skiing as well as treks in the Sahara Desert.

“Its weather stays relatively mild with temperatures in the low-60s during the day and high-30s at night,” read part of the report.

The tourist sites to enjoy in the new year are; treks in the Sahara Desert, ski trips down the snowy slopes of Oukaimeden, and shopping at Medina markets in one of the bigger cities in Morocco, Marrakech.

Nicaragua

January is the ideal time to visit Nicaragua as it is usually the dry season with temperatures reaching the high 80s.

The best places to enjoy such a time are; the sands of San Juan del Sur on Nicaragua’s Pacific coast, and hiking in Volcan Concepcion, an active volcano in Lake Nicaragua.

“The second or third week of January, San Carlos town welcomes Rio San Juan Carnival, an aquatic parade with festivities and celebrations on the lake's southeastern edge,” it noted.

Barbados

January temperatures in her reach the mid-80s, providing ample time to visit Dover Beach on the south coast of the island for water sports like jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

“Horse-racing season here starts New Year’s Day. Take part in the action and place your bets at Garrison Savannah Race Track. And if you love jazz, stick around mid-month for the annual Barbados Jazz Festival,” the report stated.

Sri Lanka

January temperatures average in the mid-80s good for riding waves at Weligama Beach in the Indian Ocean.

You can also enjoy watching elephants at Udawalawe National Park or take a safari at Yala National Park to Sithulpawwa, a Buddhist rock temple.
