Police in the UK on Monday, December 26, issued an alert over a 25-year-old who reportedly fled the country to hide in Kenya.

The authorities, through a statement, appealed to the members of the public in both countries to volunteer information that would help them apprehend the assailant.

According to UK authorities, the suspect allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old at a train station in West Ham, London.

The suspect fled to Kenya, where he is believed to be hiding after committing the act in 2017.

"Almost five years have passed since this horrific incident that took a young man from his family, and our investigation very much remains ongoing," cops stated.

"Taofeek Lamidi's family deserves justice, and we will not rest until we locate those responsible and bring them before the courts," they added.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley explained that the incident occurred five years ago, but the investigation traced the suspect to Kenya.

According to Jolley, the suspect was last captured by CCTV footage in the UK wearing a black Puma jumper and black tracksuit bottoms.

"Memorial Avenue is a busy residential area close to West Ham station. I know that there were people in the area who witnessed the incident, and I need them to come forward," Jolley appealed.

"Any information provided will be treated with the strictest confidence," he insisted.

However, the deceased family faulted the authorities for slowing the investigation process.

They urged the UK Metropolitan police to expedite the process to serve them justice.
