Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja listed six achievements under his reign as the city boss.

Through a statement on Friday, January 14, Sakaja dispelled reports that 'Karibu Nairobi' billboards erected in different parts of the city were his only achievements since assuming office.

Instead, Sakaja shared a full scorecard highlighting his significant contribution to giving Kenya's capital a new look.

The Governor maintained that he formed the Transport Safety Committee bringing together all stakeholders in public transport sector.

Sakaja further revealed that his administration had rehabilitated 44 kilometers of roads in the county.

On top of addressing transport challenges, Sakaja stated that his administration had scaled up operations in collaboration with the National Police Service (NPS) to restore security.

According to Sakaja's 100 days scorecard, his administration installed over 1,500 streetlights across the city and reduced noise pollution from clubs and bars.

"Unlocking of the Northern Collector Tunnel water project to provide an additional 140 million litres of water," Sakaja's scorecard indicated.

Automating Nairobi's revenue collection streams was also listed among Sakaja's achievements since taking over from former Governor Anne Kananu.

Besides automating revenue streams, Sakaj also distributed over 233 computers to hospitals to enable them process insurance claims.

"Established a Health Reforms Taskforce which developed a report on health issues in the county ready for implementation," the scorecard read in part.

"Revived stalled projects at level 5 and 4 hospitals," it added.

Additionally, Sakaja registered 6,000 hawkers in Nairobi Central District (CBD)  and standardised design for 20 markets in Nairobi.

Nairobi festival which was held in December 2022 also featured predominantly in Sakaja's list of achievements.

The Governor listed his scorecard in response to a troll who had claimed that his sole achievement was the erection of billboards welcoming people to Nairobi after a month of merry-making upcountry. Prior, Sakaja denied claims that he financed the billboards through government funding.
