Top candidates in the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination are set to join prestigious national schools following the conclusion of Form One Placement.

A spot check by Kenyans.co.ke established that Fwaro Makoha Robinson and Lewis Omondi Otieno were placed at Alliance High School.

Fwaro and Omondi were joint-top scorers after they both got 431 marks - the best in the country as announced by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

Kenyans.co.ke also traced Ivy Chepkoech Rotich, who was the top girl with 429 marks in the national test.

Speaking to an administrator of Sally Ann Schools in Litein county, the official confirmed that the student would join one of the best girl schools in the country.

"We received the good news this morning; she was called to join Kenya High School," the member of staff confirmed in a phone call interview.

While releasing the results of the placement process, CS Machogu revealed that candidates who scored more than 400 marks were placed in national or extra-county schools of choice.

On December 21, Fwaro disclosed Alliance High was his dream school after which he would join the university to pursue a degree in Software Engineering.

On his part, Omondi shared in the same dream to join the prestigious national school and later become an engineer just like his father.

However, a report by the Ministry revealed that the top school did not feature among the top 10 institutions preferred by 2022 candidates.

The top boy schools were Kabianga High, Nanyuki High, Nyandarua High, Maseno School, Nakuru High, Kapsabet Boys and Mangu High School.

On the flip side, Pangani Girls, Alliance Girls and Butere Girls' High School topped the list of preferred girls-exclusive schools.

All Form One students are expected to report to their respective schools between February 6 and 13. Candidates can check their placement results here.
