Sheryl Gabriella, a Kenyan content creator, recalled having a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend time with Bill Gates' daughter, Phoebe Gates.
Through her YouTube channel on Wednesday, January 18, Gabriella took her fans down memory lane.
The opportunity, she stated, availed itself when she was studying at the Kisaruni Group of Schools in Narok County, which she noted received worldwide sponsors.
In 2018, Phoebe Gates visited the school to represent her father for the Bill Gates Foundation, which sought to sponsor some learners.
Gabriella and two other students were selected to join Phoebe on tour in Kenya for about a week.
According to the content creator, they went on safaris, including the breathtaking Maasai Mara and other activities.
"After one week Phoebe stated, I love you guys so much, can come to visit me in the US, I could not believe it. I thought she was joking but she had actually talked to the school administration about our travel," she excitedly narrated.
She added that after the parents agreed to the trip, their visas were processed, but one of the girls could not travel due to exams.
Furthermore, Phoebe paid for the flight to Seattle and other expenses, including visas and passports, and gave the two Ksh30,000 for shopping.
"The Ksh30,000 was a lot considering I was only in high school, I could believe it and to be honest, I do not even remember how I spent it," she narrated.
She added that her mother was over the moon when she heard about the trip. Jokingly, asking the content creator to settle in the US.
"My mother is such a cool parent. She was so happy for me," she shared.
To authenticate her travel and silence the doubting Thomases, the content creator shared photos of the trip showing all the places they went to while in the US.
"We stayed there for like two weeks and the US was magnificent. We visited so many places. I recommend a trip there," she stated.
She concluded by reminiscing on the good times and how much the trip meant to her and the school.
"When we got back, everyone was asking how the trip was. It was such a memorable moment for me. I remember what my mum told me, she stated that I was favoured and such opportunities will continue crossing my path," she disclosed.
