The late professor, George Magoha lived a simple but elegant life if his lifestyle is anything to go by.

Despite leaving behind an expansive Ksh250 million estate, including his mansion in Siaya County, Magoha was characterised more by his stern demeanour, astute resolve and impeccable work rate.

The mansion sits at the centre of Umiru Village in Yala, Gem Constituency in Siaya County and is hailed for its colossal and aesthetic appearance.

Outside the former Cabinet Secretary for Education's compound is a navy blue vintage car that is parked opposite the mansion.

A spot check by Kenyans.co.ke indicates that Magoha rode in a 1997 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S320.

The German machine, hailed as a classic, is known for its longevity and smooth performance despite a huge mileage.

The Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is Ksh7.8 million excluding tax charges.

"The S-Class projects confidence, prestige, and a certain amount of cold indifference," read some of the reviews from the International car review website, Edmunds.

The vintage car has a 5.0-litre engine, with 315 horsepower at 5,600 revolutions per minute (rpm). Hailed as an engineered masterpiece, the vehicle consists of a 5-speed automatic transmission.

It offers a spacious interior with comfy seats. Side-mounted airbags are a standard safety precaution measure fitted in the vehicle.

"This is a one-of-a-kind Mercedes and an excellent car in general. There's nothing else out there that even comes close to its looks, design and quality of it. It's truly a piece of art," read another review from Cars.com

During Magoha's vetting process at the National Assembly in 2019, he indicated that his Ksh250 million assets were derived from rental houses, investments in treasury bills, fixed deposits as well as income from his profession.
