Ex-Nominated Member of Parliament Wilson Sossion accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of defiling the office of the retired head of state.
In an interview on K24, on Tuesday, February 14, Sossion, who is also former KNUT Secretary General stated that Uhuru is still meddling in politics even after his retirement.
According to the vocal trade unionist cum politician, the former head of state should not be actively involved in politics.
"The law gives out the timeline that within 6 months the retired president should try and get out of politics," stated Sossion.
According to the Sossion, Uhuru ought to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Moi who, he claimed, maintained silence and political neutrality after retirement from active politics.
Furthermore, the former KNUT boss took issue with Uhuru's decision to support the Raila Odinga-led onslaught on the Ruto administration.
He reiterated assertions by Kenya Kwanza stalwarts who have declared that the Azimio coalition was on its deathbed following several visits by affiliate MPs to Statehouse, Nairobi where they met Ruto.
The former ODM MP was responding to assertions by the former president that in as much as he was retired, he had no intention of quitting politics claiming that he was not yet tired.
Speaking in a rally shortly after the burial of former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, Uhuru declared that he would hold on to his position as a leader of the Jubilee party, even at the cost of losing his retirement perks.
Earlier on Uhuru said that the MPs and officials who visited the statehouse and later joined a meeting in Nakuru with Kenya kwanza colleagues should be thrown out of the Jubilee party.
“They did not invest anything in this party and were elected on the basis of my goodwill,” the former head of state remarked while on an Azimio tour of Luanda, Vihiga county.
Uhuru further reiterated his support for Raila indicating that the former Prime Minister was an honest man who was focused on uniting Kenya.
