"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11A (e) of the Film and Stage Plays Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts appoint the aforementioned," read part of the notice.

As members of the KFCB, the team will regulate the creation, broadcasting, possession, distribution, and exhibition of film and broadcast content.

They are meant to ensure that content conforms to Kenya's culture, moral values, and national aspirations as well as to protect children from exposure to inappropriate content.

Njogu was fired by the vernacular media house and received his termination via a phone call from the station's management in January 2022.

"I received a phone call from the programs controller who asked me not to report to work, permanently," he disclosed.

Njogu wa Njoroge doubled up as a show host and radio presenter at Kameme FM where he hosted the Thingira show from 9.30p.m to midnight. While on Kameme TV, he hosted the Rikiratha show that aired in the morning.

Additionally, in the 2022 General Election, the media personality sought to vie for the Njoro parliamentary seat but lost in the nomination during the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries.

In June 2022, the outspoken presenter joined Kayu FM 91.0 owned by Rose Kamotho five months after being fired by MediaMax.

Before joining Kameme FM, the journalist had stints at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation - KBCInooro FM and Gukena FM.
