CCTV footage captured robbers with an AK-47 riffle storming into a shop in broad daylight.
In the footage that was seen by Kenyans.co.ke, CCTV timestamp showed that the robbery took place on February 26 at 1409hrs.
In the video, one of the thugs enters the shop and asks the shop attendant if he can withdraw cash posing as a potential customer.
“Which number should I use?” he asks while buying time for the other thug to make entry.
The second attacker enters the shop carrying a backpack and hides behind the first robber who is pretending to be a customer.
Hidden from view by his accomplice, he draws an AK-47 and points it towards the helpless shop attendant who is now overcome with shock.
The thug who was pretending to make a cash withdrawal makes way to the counter and demands the shop attendant give him all the money.
“We do not have a problem with you if you cooperate,” he tells the shop attendant.
The armed thug though is not as polite as his compatriot, threatens to shoot the woman should she raise the alarm.
Realising that the shop attendant only has Ksh5,000 in her disposal, the robbers become angry.
“Where is the rest of the money?” they ask in visible disbelief while counting the few they had grabbed.
The helpless lady while sobbing reveals that is the only cash she has at the moment and no other valuable item in the shop.
After ransacking the shop, they force her to lie on the floor so that they can escape.
“We will leave you here with Kamau to guard you as we rob the next shop,” they tell her while making an hasty exit.
The footage is reportedly from a shop in Bamburi, Mombasa though this was not independently verified.
