Barely two weeks after detectives based at Kasarani Police Station launched investigations into the death of Jeff Mwathi, detectives are probing a similar incident within the area.
This was after a 23-year-old identified as Blair Muthomi reportedly jumped from the rooftop of a six-storey building.
The family of Muthomi is calling for investigations claiming there was a possibility that their son was pushed.
According to the apartment's foreman, the young man lived with two roommates in a cost-sharing plan.
“One of the young men led me to the ditch where he lay dead, I asked him what happened but he was not forthcoming,” the foreman told the press.
The deceased’s uncle explained why they suspected foul play in the case.
“When we were shown the remains of the boy, his internal organs were splattered everywhere making us suspicious if the death was accidental,” he explained his reservations.
Muthomi’s mother overcame with emotions, eulogised his son who had never shown suicidal tendencies.
“I have a heavy heart because this is my firstborn, we have not even broken the message to his siblings because we do not know what to say,” she tearfully stated.
“All I want is for my boy to get the justice he deserves, we need to know what caused his death,” she pleaded.
Muthomi’s death occurred a few metres from where another young Jeff Mwathi met his untimely death.
According to police reports, Mwathi body was seen flying from the 12th floor of a building and landing on the concrete floor minutes later on February 22, 2023.
It was later revealed that the house he jumped from belonged to popular Mugithi artist Lawrence Njuguna alias Dj Fatxo.
Following a public outcry, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, on Friday, March 10, ordered the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conclusively investigate the matter.
