Mama Ida Odinga was amused by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga’s rapping skills during her birthday party held on Saturday, March 11.
Ida and Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, alongside other leaders, threw a surprise birthday party for Wanga.
The party was held on the sidelines of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) event held in New York, US.
Below is the video;
During the party, Wanga and Wavinya broke into a rendition of the Unbwogable song that was released by Gidi Gidi and Maji Maji at the turn of the millennium.
Wanga, who turned 42 on Tuesday, March 7, was just past her teens when Gidi Gidi and Maji Maji released the banger.
The song rocked the Kenyan airwaves back then and was a popular jam for teenagers together with E-Sir's song Bamba which was released in 2001.
It was evident that Wanga was one of the teens who had been taken by the song as she matched the lyrics while cutting her birthday cake.
“I am Unbwogable. What are you? Who the hell do you think you are? Do you know me?” the governor sang.
She was joined in rapping to the yesteryears jam by her Machakos counterpart as other leaders cheered on including Mama Ida.
This was the second birthday party for Wanga after she held a similar one in Kenya on Tuesday, March 7 which was attended by a host of women political leaders from across the country.
The highlight of the birthday party was the first public appearance of former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu since the August 9, 2022, General Election.
Ngilu was the guest star of the show as she led in wishing Wanga a happy birthday, singing songs and offering other gifts to Homa Bay's first female governor.
