Two other cars were damaged in the ensuing chaos.

Kisumu was the first stop for UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala on March 3, as he stormed Raila’s backyard to bolster the party's support base.

A number of counties witnessed sporadic protests as the Azimio Leader unsuccessfully tried to access the Nairobi Central Business District - CBD.

Apart from Nairobi and Kisumu, protests were also held in Migori and Homa Bay with demonstrators engaging police in running battles.

Destruction of property was reported in different parts of the country as business owners counted losses.

Businesses were closed in Nairobi after the city was turned into a battlefield for the mass action.

In Kisumu, Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o called out the vandals saying that bad elements had infiltrated the protests.

The governor asked law enforcement officers to crack the whip and arrest individuals who were taking advantage of the situation to loot.

Police arrested dozens of demonstrators including Minority leaders in the Senate and the National Assembly.

Opiyo Wandayi and Stewart Madzayo were briefly held at Central Police Station before being driven to Kiambu Police Station where they were detained and released in the evening.

While on his procession in Nairobi, Odinga announced that the demos will take place every Monday until his demands to the government are met.
